Mafanikio Community Based Organisation is a non-government
organisation registered under the Kenyan Ministry of Culture and
Social Services set up in 2003 to fight poverty in the marginalised
regions of Kenya.
Kenya as a developing country is facing a myriad of developmental
problems with many Kenyans living below the poverty line, surviving
on less than a dollar a day. Mafanikio is at the forefront of
offering solutions to poverty stricken communities.
Our objectives
To mobilize all purpose resources to assist
in the improvement of livelihoods in the needy communities.
To empower women and girl child
To provide an opportunity for experimental
learning.
To create awareness on topical issues such
as environmental conservation, girl child education, civic education.
To foster exchange of useful ideas both locally
and internationally through exchange programmes.
To provide youth development and empowerment.
To lobby and advocate for peaceful intervention
in conflicts.
How we achieve our objectives
Establishment of communal farms that serve
as a means of livelihoods.
Establishment of an educational fund to assist
the bright but needy students.
Organizing training workshops to enhance
capacity building within the local community.
Organizing exchange programmes and sporting
events in the bid to tap and develop talent.
Organizing workcamps to serve as a platform
through which meaningful cross cultural exchange can take place.

Gender equality
As Women are the backbone of the economy in Kenya
they need to be equipped with knowledge and entrepreneurship skills
in order to provide for their families. With enhanced skills, they
can devote their energy to improving their livelihood and nurturing
healthy children.
