Mafanikio is a Kenyan community based organisation set up to fight
poverty in the marginalised regions of Kenya. It is registered with
the Ministry of Social Services and Gender.
The name Mafanikio means success or succeeding reflecting the positive
changes that the organisation is facilitating in the marginalized
region of the country. MCBO works in the semi arid areas through
partnering with local communities and schools.
The organisation focuses on promoting gender equality, human rights
and sustainable development through a range of diverse programmes.
These programmes, which include school feeding, local work camps,
skills based training, high school education and community-based
campaigns; contribute to an overall goal of poverty alleviation.
We invite International volunteers to participate in our work camps.
The work camps are an enjoyable means of working together in a diverse
cross-cultural setting to bring about positive, equitable and sustainable
changes to Kenyan society.
