Some of the programmes that Mafanikio supports
include international work camps, a school feeding programme, an
education fund and a food security programme.
International Work Camps
Mafanikio organises international work camps to bring together
local people and international volunteers to assist a community
with a project and share experiences.
A work camp is a place where people of all nationalities and
ideologies live and work together for three weeks on a project
to combine their energies and expertise in addressing problems
at a local level. The work camps aim to foster the spirit of self-initiative
in improving the living conditions of the local population.
Volunteers are encouraged
to fill in the feedback form to help us serve them better.
We encourage
volunteers who are interested in our programmes to fill in the
recruit volunteers form.
School Feeding Programme
A school feeding programme feeds young children who typically
walk 13km to school each day and whose families cannot afford
two meals a day. School feeding encourages hungry children to
attend school and improves school performance.
Education Fund
This fund educates students who cannot afford post-primary education
and a number of students have already completed secondary education
with the support of this programme.
