Some of the programmes that Mafanikio supports
include international work camps, a school feeding programme, an
education fund and a food security programme.
Feeding Program
The school feeding programme has brought hope to the children
in the semi arid areas. It has improved them physically, socially
and educationally through good performance in school. The feeding
programme has ensured a meal for the children everyday. Currently,
the situation in the country has become worse owing to food shortage,
famine and drought. The hard hit areas also include Makueni District.

MCBO is feeding 1,005 children in three schools; Utaati, Mitingani
and Kiukuni Primary School respectively. This has encouraged many
children to attend schools and has lessened burdens to their parents.
High School Fund
This fund educates students who cannot afford post-primary education
and a number of students have already completed secondary education
with the support of this programme.

Education is the key to reduction of poverty across the globe.
It broadens the mind and widens the thinking scope thus providing
an opportunity to creativity and initiatives. This fund caters
for bright but needy students from poor backgrounds. There are
very many students who are not able to pursue secondary education
due to lack of school fees. The situation is worse in rural areas.
MCBO is currently educating twenty four (24) students in high
school and one (1) in the University; nine (9) girls and fifteen
(15) boys. These students are drawn from different parts of the
country and are under full sponsorship for four years to complete
their secondary education.
