Welcome to Voluntá
Welcome to the website of Voluntá. Voluntá intends
to give Dutch individuals and organizations the opportunity to support
the work of social, cultural and environmental non-profit organizations
Voluntá is the place to be for people who are looking for
an interesting and meaningful holiday, an internship, or voluntary
work at an environmental organization, school or orphanage abroad.
Voluntá also caters to organizations that are interested
in meaningful teambuilding activities or looking to develop concrete
activities within their corporate social responsibility programme.
Voluntá mediates between Dutch individuals and organizations
on the one hand, and social, cultural and environmental organizations
abroad on the other hand. The Dutch participants commit themselves
to work voluntarily, for a short while or a longer period, for the
organization they support.
On this website, you will find all the necessary information about
the different projects and how to apply for them. There is also
information available for foreign organizations that are looking
for ways to obtain volunteer support from the Netherlands .
At the moment, Voluntá can offer projects in Guatemala,

Mafanikio is a Kenyan community based organization set up in 2003
to fight poverty in the marginalised regions of Kenya. Mafanikio
originally started working in one specific community, but the organization
is currently active in different parts of rural Kenya. Mafanikio
focuses on promoting gender equality, human rights and sustainable
development through a range of diverse programmes. These programmes,
which include school feeding, local work camps, skills based training
and community-based campaigns, contribute to an overall goal of
poverty alleviation. The work camps are an enjoyable means of working
together in a diverse cross-cultural setting to bring about positive,
equitable and sustainable changes to Kenyan society. Besides the
different work camps Mafanikio organises every year, Mafanikio also
hosts long term volunteers.
